Winfield College can arrange a 'homestay' which will give you the chance to
experience Canadian culture and improve your English while living with a Canadian
family. You will have your own private room in the house and three meals per day,
seven days a week. Your family will ask you to join activities with them -
it's a great way to do what Canadians enjoy doing while practicing your English! |
Nervous? Don't worry! The homestay counsellor is always there to take care of you,
to talk to your homestay family, to co-ordinate homestay fees, to answer any questions
and give you any help that you need. We want to make sure that you have a great time
in Vancouver! The homestay counsellor will ask you about your time with your family
and will always be available to discuss any questions or concerns that you might have
about your new life in Canada. There is no extra charge for this service -
it's already included for you! Most students enjoy spending time with their homestay families and continue to live with them for several months but some students prefer to move to their own apartment. This is fine - many students choose to do it - we only ask that before the 14th day of your stay, you tell us and your homestay family if you are planning to say good-bye to them. If you don't say anything before the 14th day then we'll assume you are enjoying your time and will stay four more weeks. Of course, you are free to leave earlier but to be fair, your family will have the fees until the end of the four weeks. |
