How long has the school been in business?
Winfield College Vancouver has been in business since 1996. In the year 2000 it launched Winfield College Czech in the city of Cheb in the Czech Republic.


What are the school rules?
We have three basic school rules:
  • English Only - everyone must use only English within the school.
  • Attendance and Lateness - to help your English improve it is important to go to school every day, and to arrive to class on time.
  • Respect for Others - Since there are people from more than 15 different cultures in the school, it is important that we are considerate to others at all times.


    • What if I have some questions or need some advice?
    Our staff is always available to offer you individual attention. If you have questions about homestay, classes, activities, etc, someone is always there to help you.

    What do students usually do after school?
    There are many wonderful things to do and enjoy in Vancouver. Sightseeing around the city and discovering the different ethnic communities is very popular for students. There are also school activities like skiing, going to the beach, seeing sports matches, karaoke, pub nights and much more. Or you may just want to spend time with your new friends and go shopping, bicycling, snowboarding or take in a movie...

    • Is there a library near to school?
    Yes. The school is a 5-minute walk from the library. They have ESL resources that students can use after school.

    We are members of the following certifiying bodies:

  • Bonded and licenced by the Private Post-Secondary Education Commission of BC.
  • Certified as a recognized educational institution by Human Resources Development Canada.

    • What is the school schedule?
    The school is open from Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

    What are the teachers' qualifications?
    All our ESL teachers have a Certificate in Teaching English and have years of experience teaching in Canada and abroad.
