  • How can I improve my English and make the most of my time in Canada?
    Come to class every day, participate, do your homework and try to use what you learned outside of class. Make new friends from other countries and join some of the school activities. If you are in a homestay, spend time talking with them every day.



    How is the weather in Vancouver?
    According to Environment Canada Vancouver is one of the cities with warmest year-round temperature, making it a great place to study anytime of the year. In spring (Between April and June) the average temperature is 17 degrees, in summer (between July and September) 21 degrees, in fall (between October and December) 10 degrees and, in winter (between January and March) 5 degrees. Although Vancouver does not get tons of snow during the winter (just in the mountains), it rains a lot.



    How much do I need for weekly expenses?
    According to surveys students spend on average between Cdn$40 to $60 weekly. This includes going to the movies, video rentals, school activities and weekend excursions. Day trips outside of the city are not included in these costs.



    How much does transportation cost?
    Vancouver has a very good transit system. If you have a bus pass you can travel by any bus at any time to anywhere in Vancouver. This bus pass also includes the Sea Bus across to North Vancouver or the Sky Train to the eastern suburbs. A bus pass costs between $65 to $95 per month according where you live. Most of the homestay families are located in Zone 2. A 2 zone bus pass costs Cdn$95/month.
